GUARDIANS AND RAYS FACE CRITICAL ALCS SHOWDOWN AFTER RAIN FORCES GAME 4 POSTPONEMENT
The Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays will resume their American League Championship Series on Saturday, October 17, after persistent rain forced Major League Baseball to postpone Friday night's Game 4 at Progressive Field. Cleveland currently leads the best-of-seven series 2–1, placing the Guardians two victories away from advancing to the World Series.
SMMC SPORTS REPORT
Major League Baseball rescheduled Game 4 for Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern, with Game 5 now scheduled for Sunday at 5 p.m. The change eliminates the originally planned off-day between games, creating additional challenges for both teams' pitching staffs as the championship series continues.
Cleveland enters the matchup with momentum following a 3–2 victory in Game 3. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, will look to even the series and prevent the Guardians from moving within one victory of the American League pennant. The winner of the series will face the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series beginning October 23.
