NICOLAS CAGE CHALLENGES HOLLYWOOD'S GROWING USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AFTER REFUSING AI AGREEMENT FOR SPIDER-NOIR
Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage is taking a public stand against artificial intelligence in Hollywood, revealing that he refused to sign an AI-related agreement connected to his Prime Video series Spider-Noir. Speaking during New York Comic Con, Cage expressed serious concerns about the entertainment industry's growing investment in artificial intelligence and suggested that his disagreement with Amazon MGM Studios could prevent future collaborations.

During his appearance Saturday, October 10, Cage explained that he had declined an agreement allowing the use of artificial intelligence in connection with his performance on Spider-Noir. The actor criticized Amazon's enthusiasm for AI technology and indicated that he would probably not work with the studio again. His remarks followed the cancellation of the superhero crime series after one season, despite substantial streaming viewership and multiple Emmy nominations. Amazon had not publicly responded to the actor's comments at the time of the initial reports.
Cage's statements arrive as Hollywood continues debating how artificial intelligence could affect actors, writers, filmmakers, and other creative professionals. Questions surrounding digital likeness rights, employment protections, and ownership of creative performances have become increasingly important throughout the entertainment business. His position adds another prominent voice to the ongoing discussion about whether emerging technology can be integrated into film and television production without undermining the rights and livelihoods of human performers.
