Skydance Corporation officially began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SKYD on October 6, following the completion of the approximately $111 billion merger, including debt. Chairman and CEO David Ellison led the opening bell ceremony two days later, celebrating a major milestone in the company's expansion. The combined entertainment powerhouse now controls Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., HBO, CBS, CNN, MTV, Nickelodeon, and streaming services including Paramount+ and HBO Max. The merger also brings iconic entertainment properties such as Batman, Superman, Harry Potter, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Mission: Impossible into the same corporate portfolio.

Despite the celebration, the newly expanded company faces substantial challenges, including approximately $80 billion in debt, intense competition from Netflix, Disney, and other streaming giants, and the complicated process of integrating its extensive operations. Skydance has outlined plans to strengthen film and television production, expand its global entertainment reach, and achieve billions in operational savings. For Hollywood, the merger represents a significant shift in the industry's competitive landscape as traditional studios pursue greater scale to compete in an increasingly digital entertainment marketplace.
